Rosemary Murphy

Hi. I am Rosemary. I am married to Alex and have one daughter. We live in Celbridge. I have been in childcare since 2005. Before that I worked in Human Resource Management in a computer company. When my daughter was born I decided to give up work to be at home with her. When she started Montessori I decided to look at what I would do when she started school and whether I would go back into the same career.

I have always had an interest in education so I decided to do a Level 5 Special Needs Assistant course which would fit in with my daughters school hours. So the year my daughter began primary education I began my new career in education. I was employed as an SNA for two years then began to look at working in the preschool area and worked for a few years with St. Raphael’s in Celbridge supporting children with special needs in preschools in the Co. Kildare. While working with children with special needs I began to take an interest in the area of Montessori education.  I did my Level 6 Diploma in teaching montessori and began to work as a montessori teacher. I also completed my Level 6 Major Award. I have been working as a Montessori teacher for several years now have been part of the Happy Days team since 2014.

I love my job and get such pleasure in seeing children grow within our environment. There is nothing as nice as seeing a child come into our setting smiling in the morning. Children are sponges and it is great to see them absorb whatever is given to them.  Happy Days is so aptly named as all children’s days should be Happy Days. There is a great team of workers in Happy Days and we all get on very well.
