Hi, I’m Brenda and I am a Montessori Teacher at Happy Days since 2014. I am married and have one daughter. I started my career in childcare in 2006, before I worked with Quinnsworth/Tesco for 20 years as a department manager. I took redundancy and decided to change career, after a long talk with a friend of mine who owns a Montessori I decided to attend Portobello College and received a Montessori Diploma in 2007. I worked in a Montessori preschool for 6 years. I returned to college in 2012 to enhance my education and completed my FETAC level 6 in Early Childhood Care & Education in 2014. In 2017 I completed my BA in Applied Early Childhood Education.
I work with the preschool children in the mornings and the afterschool children in the afternoon, I love the diversity of the two different groups, they are a joy to work with.
I have a Paediatric First Aid certificate and am trained in Child Protection, which are updated every two years.
I like my job in Happy Days, the rest of the team make it enjoyable and we all
get on very well together. All the children that attend are a pleasure to work
with as well and make me want to come in each morning.
In my spare time I like to go to the gym and go walking with my dog Charlie, I
also like to look for new ideas for the children to make or bake in Happy Days.
